Santa Cruz, California State Parks - MTB Trail Access Project
The local mountain bike club in Santa Cruz, California (MBOSC) hired HILRIDE to contribute expert knowledge and opinion related to opening existing trails to mountain bike users in Santa Cruz County State Park units. The MBOSC proposal to State Parks is intended to increase connectivity between parks and provide more adequate access for mountain bikers.

HILRIDE attended a meeting with Santa Cruz State Park Superintendent and their environmental and recreation staff to discuss the implications of making certain proposed trails multiple use to include bikes. HILRIDE also conducted an initial trail assessment to report on whether the first proposed trail is suitable for mountain bike usage, the strengths and weaknesses of having bike travel on that trail and the recommended maintenance needed prior to opening the trail to bikes.
