Nat Lopes is an expert trail designer and trail master planner with a background in marketing, product design, video editing and production.
HILRIDE HILRIDE Progression Development Group is the extension of three years of intensive traveling throughout North America for the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA). In that time we led more than 100 trail building schools, training thousands of people on how to plan, design and construct sustainable mountain bike trails, trail systems, and destination riding areas. We consulted directly with the National Park Service, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Fish and Wildlife, private land owners, land trusts, and more than 52 lift assist mountain bike park operations. With our experience designing and building mountain bike specific XC cross country, DH downhill and FR freeride style trails, skills stations, jump parks, practice loops, race courses, and special event venues, we understand the technical aspects necessary to create world class mountain biking experiences. We are also able to share our experience having ridden and filmed some of the most amazing trails in the world in some of the most incredible natural landscapes imaginable. With more than 650 locations documented across 46 states and 9 Canadian Provinces from the Chugach Mountains in Anchorage, Alaska, to the rain forests of Kileaua in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, to the new urban wilderness of Cunningham Park in New York City (population density 10,000 people per square mile), we can show you exactly what it takes to create a world class trail and a world class riding destination and we can make it happen for you.
